Skills Used

This menu was created for a fake Gaming Cafe located in Fremont, CA. I hand-lettered the logo font with Procreate and then scanned it into Adobe Illustrator. I also used Procreate to experiment with pixel art to create additional visuals for the menu. In addition to the designs created in Procreate, I also designed a simple pattern of different video game peripherals to use for a pattern in the background.

Design Strategy

This menu design allowed me to experiment with a bunch of different programs that I haven’t been able to use. The hand lettering was a lot more time-consuming than I initially imagined as there were a lot of curves that I had to redraw. The pixel art took me out of my comfort zone as I typically avoided drawing as I wouldn’t consider it to be my strong suit. I am happy with how the pixel art turned out with it being my first time.
